Located in the mountainous region of Western Hue, Fleur De Lys Resort blends traditional structures with modern comforts. The design prioritizes natural materials like wood and local stone to integrate with the surrounding landscape. The project focuses on creating a serene retreat that respects the natural topography and the unique cultural heritage of the ancient capital.
The traditional Vietnamese "Nhà Ba Gian" (three-room house) is a masterpiece of vernacular architecture, deeply rooted in spatial harmony and climate-responsive design. Characterized by a symmetrical layout, it features a prominent central room flanked by two side wings, unified under a sweeping clay-tiled roof and supported by a robust timber framework. Rather than isolating the indoors, the house integrates an open veranda (hiên) that interfaces seamlessly with a front courtyard. Notion Architects reinterprets this timeless vernacular blueprint into a contemporary hospitality luxury experience.
The interior design focuses on local materials such as wood, stone, and bamboo, combined with a neutral palette to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Spaces are organized in an open layout to maximize natural light and ventilation while maintaining privacy. Living area reimagines the essence of Hue garden houses, opening seamlessly toward water pond and screen wall, key feng shui elements. This harmonious blend of natural light and artisanal details creates a profound sense of tranquility and cultural connection.
Decorative elements are restrained, prioritizing function and user experience. The project balances contemporary aesthetics with local identity, aligning with a refined yet approachable resort concept.
The bungalow bedroom interior combines modern comfort with local cultural touches. All space is decorated with traditional Hue enamel (Phap lam) and sophisticated artworks, creating a unique heritage highlight
It is evident that traditional artistry has been subtly woven into every detail. The ancient capital remains a compelling source of design inspiration, and we feel fortunate that many antiquities and historic structures have been preserved intact. They serve as a powerful catalyst for modern designs that remain deeply rooted in the essence of place.
